Skiving is the perfect solution for medium accuracy parts where less than 1/2 the diameter needs to be removed quickly. Because skiving eliminates infeed error, skiving has about double the accuracy of forming alone. Feed rates for skiving start at 2x to 3x that of forming or shaving.
